Katelyn Mayo

Speech-Language Pathologist

Katelyn was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland and graduated from Memorial University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Linguistics. She completed her Masters of Clinical Science (Speech-Language Pathology) at Western University in 2023.

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, Katelyn believes in a neurodiversity affirming approach, which supports and honours all forms of communication. She is passionate about advocating for communication accessibility, dismantling barriers to communication, fostering confidence and building meaningful connections. She is interested in the impact communication challenges may have on one’s mental and physical health. Her interest in the relationship between mental health and communication has led to a distinct interest in stuttering. She has completed specialized training through the Institute for Stuttering Treatment and Research in Alberta and is eager to support people who stutter throughout the province.

Growing up, Katelyn was heavily involved in dance and musical theatre, and continues to enjoy dancing in her spare time. She also enjoys doing puzzles, baking, or hanging out with her sweet puppy, Sadie!
